Michael Scarborough

Technical Writer and Editor

Technical writer and editor with a background in macOS systems engineering and enterprise IT. I create user guides, administrator documentation, knowledge base articles, workflow documentation, and structured writing samples for technical teams and end users.

My experience includes documenting real-world technical workflows in support, administration, and enterprise environments, with a focus on clarity, structure, usability, and audience-appropriate communication. I also serve as a Technical Editor for Apache OpenOffice documentation, reviewing and improving published user guide content for consistency, readability, and technical accuracy.

This portfolio includes selected writing and editing samples in Markdown, XML, and GitHub-based formats, including onboarding guides, troubleshooting content, administrator documentation, technical editing work, and introductory DITA-based structured authoring samples. I have also completed Scriptorium’s Introduction to DITA course and have a strong interest in Markdown-based documentation, structured authoring, and modern documentation workflows.
